at Parikrma : Volunteer
Activities
TEACHING:
- Teach computer to students and also teachers;
Work one on one with a few students (ask teachers
which students- 4 or 5 children)
- Read stories to our children
- Creative Writing class
- Teach a specific topic, eg countries, history,
maths, English, science, geography (depends
on volunteers interests and syllabus)
- Teach dance class
- Teach music
- Teach theatre
- Teach Musical Instruments
- Teach music of different countries
- Teach Environmental Studies.
- Organize after school remedial program.
- Teach our children how to knit/ crochet: Organize
a fashion parade where our children design their
own clothes and make them
- Photography class
- Pottery Class
- Calligraphy
- Teach sports (basketball, cricket, football,
rugby, badminton, gymnastics, aerobics, yoga,
tennis, golf etc)
- Karate classes
- Ballet classes
EXTRA ACTIVITIES IN SCHOOL:
- Organize Child Profiles.
- Life Skills class. Check Mental Health
and work with the children who have learning difficulties.
- Organize the library
- Organize a performance in school
- Conduct cooking classes with our kids.
- Teach the children how to make friendship
bracelets
- Face painting
- Make an international meal one day (French,
Australian, Canadian, German food..)
- Creating a weekly or monthly newspaper
in the school written by children
EXTRA ACTIVITIES OUT OF SCHOOL:
- Assist in fundraisers eg art exhibition.
- Find someone to head up all the social
events amongst volunteers
- Organize the offices in each school
- Organize further interaction with other
organization and schools.
- Help maintain the database.
OFFICE:
- If you know a lot about Software they
could be very useful in the office
- Write some article of Parikrma to improve
the external communication.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
- Organize our children to do volunteer work
at other organizations.
BACK HOME:
- Organize a pen pall program with a school
in your home country.
- Trying to do some fundraising back home
to help Parikrma.
